Sometimes things just come together. Matt knew Lee and Dave but not Chris. Chris knew Lee and Dave but not Matt. Lee and Dave knew everybody. Matt needed a trombone quartet for his wife Mary's band clinic. This was a perfect opportunity for Dave to plant the seeds of one of his great ambitions, to start a trombone quartet. Chris and Lee couldn't think of anything better to do at the time. Could four busy trombonists share a quartet together without driving each other crazy?

Well, the answer is a resounding "Yes". The Westside Trombone Quartet has been playing together since Mary's clinic in May 2003, and has no plans to stop. The group has been quite active, performing at concerts, church services and the occasional private party. WTQ plans to increase the variety and number of venues as the group evolves.

WTQ is very much a group comprised of individuals whose abilities and and experience come together to share a common goal - to present great music that both entertains and challenges our listeners. We're especially happy that we are able to present some newer compositions and arrangements which have not yet been widely heard.
